Due to its particularly small land mass even visitors on the tightest schedules are able to travel between many of the Ireland’s major attractions within just a few days. Many people are more comfortable choosing one particular town as their base of operations and travelling on day excursions to visit the surrounding area. The city of Dublin makes a particularly good place to explore subtle Ireland from. Dublin is a modern cosmopolitan city in every sense with an excellent public transport network and well served by Dublin International Airport. Within Dublin Airport you will find a whole host of well-known rental companies such as Hertz, Avis, Budget, Europacar and Sixt, all of which will be able to provide you with a top rate rental car along with local driving information and directions.
Just a short drive from Dublin is Bray Head in County Wicklow, known as the garden of the Ireland. Bray is an old seaside town with an exceptionally clean beach in a traditional promenade. To the north of Dublin can be found Howth Head, this is a tombolo which can be climbed, from the top the view over Dublin City is breathtaking and well worth the effort in climbing. Overall Dublin makes an excellent location from which to explore Southern Ireland in its entirety. Touring Ireland by car is a great way to explore this fascinating country. |
